Classes on hold for the time being - call me to express interest

No matter how well prepared you are, giving birth and welcoming a new baby into the world is a life changing event.
As well as the huge physical changes, there are big emotional, spiritual and psychological adjustments to be made in the first few months after childbirth.
Bring your baby along to enjoy the soothing atmosphere of a yoga class. The class is an informal and welcoming space where you can feel comfortable to stop and feed or change your baby as necessary.
A relaxed and informal class to give mothers a chance to get back in touch with their bodies and minds after childbirth while bonding with their babies.
This is a relaxed opportunity to practice yoga for yourself and with your baby.  The classes are primarily for the mother to gradually rebuild strength, realign the spine, address common post natal complaints and to relax deeply.  The involvements of the babies will vary from week to week. If the babies are asleep, then we'll simply leave them to be - if awake, then we will include them in the practice, using gentle yoga stretches for the baby, and involve them in our own practice in an interactive and fun way.
Post natal yoga classes will help you to:
  • Relax
  • Rebuild strength and stamina in your body
  • Regain good posture and correct alignment of your spine
  • Ease aches, pains and muscle tightness
  • Learn simple easy practices to build into your daily lives
  • Increase your energy levels
  • Take time for your own needs!
  • Meet up with other local mums with their babies

When can I start?

Gentle yoga practices can be carried out soon after birth.  If you feel ready to come out and about with your little one, then you are able to join the class and work at your own pace.  Many women choose to wait until their six week check up after a normal vaginal birth before attending the classes, but it is up to each individual to decide when they feel ready to up and about - we can always modify the practices to suit you and your baby.  You should check with your doctor if you have had a caesarian or complications as to when you should be ready to start.

Post Natal Mother & Baby Yoga Classes take place on Wednesdays at the Hartford Tennis & Bowls Club.  Classes run from 11.15 am - 12.30 pm.  Call or email me for further information and to book your place.
